As the few remaining teams continue their journey to the tower, the members of Group Seven do all that they can to defend themselves from the many other groups that are after the scrolls. As Sasuke collapses from the curse mark given to him by Orochimaru it is up to Sakura to continue defending her teammates. Fortunately for Sakura other teams from the Konoha have arrived to help her defeat the sound ninjas. But just as things look bleak for all of them Sasuke awakens surging with power from the curse mark and fights off the sound ninjas. After much strife Group Seven makes for the tower to complete their goal and pass their exam.
The greatness from volume came from the opportunity to really see what these other ninjas can do. Gaara of the sand is truly a frightening character with the ability to control the sand as he sees fit and uses it to crush his enemies. Coming off the last volume Sakura is still standing her ground and protecting her teammates. Sakura truly is coming into her own.
Not a lot of new things happened in this volume as most of it was a recounting of previous events leading up to where the teams are now. I will say that Group Seven has had a world of trouble, even as they close in the tower they found that no matter how close they got, the tower was always out of reach. As they had found it was another group that was using a genjutsu or an illusion to make it appear that way. This volume showed off a bit more of what the ninjas are capable of and it is amazing.
I would have liked to see a bit more of a story development and the story move forward a bit faster but all in good time. We did get an excellent look at how strong Sasuke has become from the curse mark from Orochimaru. This volume wasn’t that much of a spectacle. Not much of anything new has happened but I am hopeful for a large development in the next volume.
All in all Naruto volume 7 was a great read I was just hoping for more. I look forward to continuing this series and can’t wait to see what happens next. I recommend this volume and series to everyone.
