Luffy and the Straw Hat pirates board the oceangoing restaurant Baratie in hopes of finding a cook. After an accident involving Luffy and a cannonball he is now the chore boy of Baratie until the repairs are taken care of. Sanji, the sous chef feeds a pirate not knowing that the pirate was from Krieg’s crew. The pirate was grateful but reports the ships location to Don Krieg. Zolo meets his rival Hawk-Eye Mihawk and attempts to prove that he is the best swordsman in the world. As Zolo battles Mihawk, Krieg and his pirates move in on Baratie in hopes of taking it over. Now the Straw Hat crew has to defend the restaurant and themselves from Don Krieg and his crew.

This volume was full of action with some story developments. Zolo meets his rival and Luffy finds a potential cook for their crew. Not much in the way of character development as the characters maintain their usual enthusiasm and energy levels. It was awesome to see Zolo battle his rival and I look forward to the future battles between them.

Sanji is an awesome character so far. He’s funny, sarcastic, and stands up for what he believes in as a cook. I believe he would be an excellent addition, and would bring more humor to the crew. Sanji also has incredible strength, and amazing skills seemingly without a Devil Fruit power. I can’t wait to see what Sanji is capable of further down the road.

Don Krieg and hit pirates are the most fierce opponents the Straw Hat crew has faced thus far if not for their astronomical numbers, then for Don Krieg’s strength. He is the only pirate that we have met so far that has braved the Gramd Line. The Grand Line is full of only the strongest pirate crews and Don Krieg is a testament to that strength. The previous captains that the crew has encountered pale in comparison to Krieg’s pirate crew.

This volume was amazing in terms of action, and story. Full of new characters and even a few new plot points involving some of the new characters. A lot of doors have been opened in this sense, as we now know Zolo’s rival, have met the potential cook, and seen what the Grand Line has to offer in terms of competition for the Straw Hat crew. I believe that the following volumes will continue this trend or something similar until Luffy and his crew make it to the Grand Line themselves. Overall One Piece volume 6 was amazing and I think you will enjoy it.
