During Zolo’s battle with Baroque Works, two higher ranking members show up in search of a princess who is infiltrating the organization. After Zolo finished the battle, he is tasked with ensuring that the princess makes it back to Alabasta. The first stop in their way to Alabasta is an island called Little Garden. Luffy and princess Vivi decide to go on an adventure, while Sanji and Zolo hunt for food. During their time at Little Garden, the crew meets Dorry and Broggy. Both Dorry and Broggy are giants, and they have been fighting each other for over a hundred years. How will the Straw Hat crew make it out of this one?

This series is literally getting better right before my eyes. I had thought that Zolo was going to fight the members of Baroque Works and the boss would come out, then Luffy would have to defeat the boss, and that would be it. I wasn’t remotely close to how the story would go. Nefeltari Vivi the princess of Alabasta was hiding among the ranks of Baroque Works to find out why they were causing her kingdom problems. I did not see this coming.

The members of Baroque Works are some of the most interesting characters that have been introduced in this series so far. For example, the lower the number in the agents codename the higher their rank. The higher-ranking agents of Baroque Works all seem to have Devil Fruit powers. I applaud Eiichiro Oda on his level of creativity here.

The story has exploded into a brand-new direction. If the Straw Hat crew can’t get the princess back to her kingdom, who knows what will happen. Luffy and his crew must navigate through the dangers of the Grand Line and contend with the agents of Baroque Works. I can’t wait to see what the highest-ranking agents are capable of. Luffy and his crew have their work cut out for them.

This volume had some of the best content yet. I am genuinely excited to see what happens to the kingdom of Alabasta. Saving a restaurant or a village is one thing, saving an entire kingdom is another. It would be huge if Luffy and his crew could save the kingdom and return it to its former glory. So many possibilities have opened with this volume. One Piece volume 13 was a fantastic read.
